As we think about the kinds of games we want to spend our evenings playing, we keep coming back to the same ideas: exploration, cooperation, and memorable challenges overcome together.

While our MUD project is still in a very early prototype stage, that vision is already shaping the work we’re doing. Our goal is to create a fun PvE-focused experience where adventurers can join forces to face the dangers threatening the realm. Whether that means standing against marauding dragons, confronting demonic forces, or tackling other deadly encounters, we want success to feel like something earned. We’ll still make sure there is plenty of content for solo-play, too, so if your schedule doesn’t align with your party members’, you’ll still have fun.

On the technical side, we’ve recently implemented classic MUD combat. If you’ve spent time with traditional text games, the experience will feel familiar. There’s a lot to be said for typing kill spider and watching the action unfold. This choice was made for practicality as we build out our core systems, but also reflects the straightforward gameplay of traditional MUDs.

On the design side, we’re working on building the world itself. Areas are being created for players to explore, discover, and eventually call home. It’s still too early to share many details, but developing interesting locations and adventures is one of the most exciting parts of the project and we’re looking forward to revealing more as things take shape.

There’s still a great deal of work ahead, but each milestone brings the project a little closer to becoming a place where players can gather, explore, and take on challenges together. We’ll continue sharing updates as development progresses.
